CCHFund gets Cheque for £13,322 from Gala Night!

Wow, what an evening! Alvin Printwhistle, (local legend and Elvis impersonator) put on a no-holds-barred Gala Dinner at Elseborough Golf night on Saturday the 15th of October.

Now there’s a man who knows how to put on a party! With entertain from the mighty Deja-Vu, the evening went from strength to strength – even if the dancing didn’t…!

With a fully sold out dinner, guests ranged from former patients, CCHF ambassadors and several of the Haematology and senior ward nurses. The evening consisted of live music and a raffle, the former provided free by the wonderful and ever energetic Deja-Vu who had the entire dance floor packed out from the moment they began their set.

The raffle, thoughtfully organised by Alvin raised a frankly stonking £4,000 on its own! The prizes were made up of Elvis (of course!) and Queen memorabilia, golf days and even very generously provided football events. There was also a host of other gifts. All guests were heavily involved with the evening ensuring that their bids were immensely generous.

The highlight of the evening came in the form of a donation from Alvin. Using the evening as an opportunity to finish off a years worth of fundraising, Mr. Printwhistle presented CCHF and Stoke Mandeville Hospital with a massive cheque totalling an unbelievable £13,322!

Alvin himself had a few words:

“What a fab night last night! Fundraising for CHARM … a big thank you to everyone that joined me last night and to everyone, that has supported me on this year’s journey … it was my absolute pleasure to hand over our cheque!”

A massive thank you to Alvin, De-Ja-Vue and everyone who turned up, brought tickets, made donations and helped out. This was a truly special evening that showed the power that we have together. The fundraising abilities on display here are inspiring.
