Aylesbury Vale businesses were among those who stepped up to help the Cancer Care an Haematology Unit (CCHU) at Stoke Mandeville Hospital to achieve a record high total for their annual Christmas raffle and sweet sale.
Described as a “phenomenal” result, the reception team at CCHU, who every year organise raffles at Easter and Christmas, raised a staggering £2,853.50! That was £1,769 on the raffle and £957.50 on the sweet stall!
All the proceeds will go to the Cancer Care and Haematology Fund – the charity that supports Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust's treatment of cancer and haematology patients at Stoke Mandeville and Wycombe hospitals and across the county.
Christmas cards made by Janice Jeffries made a further £126.50.
The reception team at CCHU have worked tirelessly to promote the Christmas raffle and sweet stall. Among the team, special thanks go to Julie O'Sullivan and her daughters Emma and Holly who both volunteered their time.

- The Cancer Care and Haematology Fund, was set up in 1990 to raise money to help patients diagnosed with cancer or blood disorders by funding the construction of CCHU - a specialist unit at Stoke Mandeville Hospital which opened in 2001. Today the charity continues to provide financial support for Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust's treatment facilities at both CCHU and the Sunrise Unit at Wycombe Hospital.
