McCormick UK Ltd offers flavoursome support!

Cancer Care and Haematology Fund have been chosen as a charity partner by the Haddenham factory of global flavour solutions business, McCormick UK Ltd.

McCormick UK Ltd, whose EMEA Headquarters have been in Haddenham, Buckinghamshire, for over 20 years, employ around 450 people across their offices and factory. It is intended that the relationship will help raise awareness of the charity and its work among operations employees, as well as helping to raise money for CCHF, through local safety awareness initiatives.

Jenni McGill, of McCormick UK Ltd, explained: “We are thrilled to announce our manufacturing department's partnership with the Cancer Care and Haematology Fund for 2024. This collaboration reflects our commitment to corporate social responsibility and local community engagement. We believe that by supporting CCHF, our Haddenham operations employees can raise awareness, as well as doing their bit to improving care and treatment, and helping those in need.

Our donation at the end of the year will be raised through the number of health and safety observations our factory employees raise, in order to reduce the risk of accidents. For every observation, £1 is donated, then this is usually doubled by the company. It has helped to keep our working environment safe, and supports the local community too”.

Mike Snell, Trustee of CCHF, commented: “We're absolutely delighted! It is always a thrill to hear that employees feel strongly enough to support our work in Buckinghamshire and we feel privileged to have been chosen by those who work for such a leading business. We're very much looking forward to working with McCormick UK Ltd in the coming months.”

McCormick's began life in America in 1889 when Willoughby M McCormick, and three young workers started a business in a Baltimore cellar selling their flavours and extracts door-to-door. Today the global business employs 14,000 and earns more than $6 billion in annual sales across 170 countries and territories. They own many famous kitchen store cupboard brands including Schwartz in the UK, best known for their wide range of herbs, spices and seasonings.

The Cancer Care and Haematology Fund is a charity set up to help those diagnosed with cancer and haematology based diseases and who are being treated by Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust. Through public fundraising a specialist unit – the CCHU - was built and opened in January 2001 at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, Aylesbury. The charity continues to provide financial support for projects that benefit patients cared for at the CCHU, the Sunrise Unit in Wycombe Hospital and in community settings across Buckinghamshire and neighbouring counties.  See how we support.
