Housebuilder's support for charity

Britain's biggest housebuilder has weighed in with a community donation of £1,500 for CCHF!

The cash comes from Barratt David Wilson Homes, who are currently completing a major development at Kingsbrook, on Burcott Lane, Aylesbury.

The donation was made as part of the Barratt Foundation's Community Fund initiative, which sees the housebuilder donate £1,500 each month to a local charity to improve the quality of life for those living in the local area.

Marc Woolfe, Head of Sales at Barratt David Wilson North Thames, explained: “Through its work in the community over the past 20 years, CCHF has demonstrated the value and necessity of its fundraising and support for patients, their families and staff in and around Aylesbury. Its work extends beyond raising funds, providing carefully selected comforts and environmental enhancements as well as key equipment which make a world of difference to those undergoing treatment. We thank CCHF for the work they continue to do in the area.”

CCHF Trustee, Mike Snell, said: “We are a small charity with no paid staff so rely heavily on the kindness of our volunteers, supporters and fundraisers to help us to maintain our work. We are therefore so grateful for the donation by Barratt David Wilson North Thames which will contribute to the ongoing support we provide for cancer patients across Buckinghamshire.”

This year, Barratt David Wilson North Thames is expanding its selection of new homes available at Kingsbrook, starting with a range of two, three and four-bedroom homes ideal for families, with prices starting at £247,500.

The Cancer Care and Haematology Fund is a charity set up to help those diagnosed with cancer and haematology based diseases and who are being treated by Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust. Through public fundraising a specialist unit – the CCHU - was built and opened in January 2001 at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, Aylesbury. The charity continues to provide financial support for projects that benefit patients cared for at the CCHU, the Sunrise Unit in Wycombe Hospital and in community settings across Buckinghamshire and neighbouring counties.
