Countdown to zumba fundraiser!

The clock is ticking down for a three-hour zumbathon fundraiser this weekend in support of healthcare charities!

Organised by Linda Barriteau and her friends Louise and Lisa, the event kicks off at 1.00 pm on Saturday, 25 February, at Mandeville School, Ellen Road, Aylesbury.

Linda, who is being treated at the Cancer Care and Haematology Unit, Stoke Mandeville, for ovarian cancer, has decided that all proceeds will be shared between the charities Cancer Care and Haematology Fund (CCHF) and Target Ovarian Cancer, as a “thank you” for the treatment and support she has received over the past 12 months.

We have a talented group of Zumba instructors and two great DJs who have very kindly given up their time to help me raise money and have a blast ... exactly a year on from when I had major surgery,” Linda explained.

As well as raising money, the event is also to raise awareness of the symptoms of ovarian cancer as sadly it's very common to find that women don't know the symptoms of this disease.”

Good luck to Linda, all of her supporters and everyone taking part on Saturday!
