Two teams of amateur footballers have successfully raised a huge amount of cash for two local charities in a special game on 8 August.
Teams from Black Horse FC and Chesham Athletic FC met in a charity match at The Meadow ground – home to Southern League Premier team, Chesham United FC – in memory of Bryan Birkett who died earlier this summer.
The proceeds – nearly £1,400 – were split equally between CCHF and the Big Community Takeaway – a charity that works in Chesham, Amersham and High Wycombe addressing food poverty.
The warmest “thank you” from ourselves to everyone involved in the football match for this wonderful donation. It will allow us to continue to support the vital NHS cancer care and haematology treatment units at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, Aylesbury, and the Sunrise Unit at Wycombe Hospital.
