National Cancer CNS Day

Today - 26 April - is the 2nd National Cancer CNS Day, and we celebrate the work of clinical nurse specialists everywhere!

This special day recognises the contribution of expert cancer nurses and the urgent need to recruit more of them.

On average, someone is diagnosed with cancer every 90 seconds in England and they seek the expert support of the nursing profession. Cancer nursing is about much more than palliative care, with a greater range of complex treatments available to patients than ever before.

Our charity aims include providing support for the wonderful clinicians and nurses who work so hard at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust's cancer and haematology treatment centres at Stoke Mandeville and Wycombe hospitals.

Hear from the Trust's Clinical Nurse Specialist Kate Lee about why she enjoys her role and supporting patients.
