Aylesbury's Masons have hit the mark for the Cancer Care and Haematology Fund!
Members of Hamden Lodge, who meet in Ripon Street, Aylesbury, and their guests have raised £1,800 for CCHF in a major fundraising event.
Their Ladies Festival charitable weekend was held earlier this month at the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel, Stratford-upon-Avon, and more than 80 guests enjoyed music, dancing, a raffle and an auction.
Rochelle Shepherd-Smith – whose husband Steven Smith is Master of the Lodge this year – chose our charity to be the recipient of their fundraiser: “I wanted to raise money for a local charity and cancer has touched a lot of people close to me. I am also local and have lived in Aylesbury all my life, and my daughter is a nurse at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.”
The event had generous donations from a number of local businesses, including Tesco, Chiltern Forest, Ellesborough and Weston Turville golf clubs, Relax Spa & Beauty, Waddesdon Manor, Waterside Theatre, Oxley Flooring, K&B Butchers and Kingsbrook Joinery.
Mike Snell, CCHF Trustee, said: “The Masonic movement is noted for its remarkable charitable work and this is a wonderful gesture from the Hamden Lodge; we're so grateful for their members' hard work and generosity.”
Hamden Lodge has a long history in the town and are celebrating their 100th anniversary in 2023.
